Although the mornings remain chilly and frosty, the sun has begun to emit a warmth that evokes thoughts of renewal; in the garden, this signifies seeds, sprouts, and all things small and new! We have sweet peas started for this year's garden along with 'Sterling' vegetable peas. Sweet peas are a quintessential cottage flower that captivated me the first time I grew them. Their unique beauty and fragrance make them a memorable little gift of joy. I've started them both as direct seeds and transplants, depending on the time available, and they yield an abundant array of delicate, flowing buds in either case. This year, we managed to get some seedlings started, promising earlier blooms in the garden! I hope you can grab a few seeds for your own garden and enjoy these delightful garden treasures too.
